Meatballs on Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients for Meatballs on a Bed of Mashed Potatoes

For the meatballs;

  • 400 grams ground beef
  • 1 onion (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Cumin, red chili powder

For sauce;

  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons of oil̆ and some butter
  • Salt
  • 1 pinch of thyme

For the mash;

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 glass of Milk
  • Salt, pepper

How to Make Meatballs on Mashed Potatoes? 

  • First, the potatoes for mash are peeled and cut into small pieces. 
  • They are cooked with milk that will not exceed them.
  •  On the other hand, meatball ingredients are kneaded, and small meatballs smaller than walnuts are prepared. 
  • They are fried in two or three tablespoons of oil. 
  • The fried meatballs are taken on a plate and grated tomatoes and tomato paste are stirred with the oil in the pan.
  • They are cooked by adding a tea glass of water, then the meatballs are added, and the stove is turned down.
  • Then they are mashed with a masher by adding other ingredients to the cooked potato. 
  • If your mash is dark, a little more milk can be added. 
  • Spread the mash on the service plate, put the meatballs with sauce on it, and serve hot.
